Who is this course for?

This course is for people currently employed in the EY sector who preferably have already gained a level 2 qualification in Early Years. There may be exceptions to this which can be discussed with the course leader at interview.

What will I learn?

You will extend your knowledge and skills in all aspects of Early Years working practices such as updated EYFS, observation and planning for children’s individual progression, working across associated sectors and with other childcare professionals, safeguarding practices, pedagogy and application of theoretical perspectives to EY work.

How will this course benefit me?

The Early Years sector requires qualified and skilled practitioners to work with a high level of expertise and awareness with young children and their families / carers from a wide range of backgrounds. You will develop your existing skills and knowledge to enable you to work to a professional level, lead change and enhance your career opportunities.

Course requirements:

You need to be employed in the Early Years sector.

You will be required to complete a short English assessment and attend an interview with the Course leader.

You must have your own laptop to use for online lessons (Zoom) and to complete assignments.

Progression opportunities:

Access courses leading to Early Childhood Education degrees, Primary Teaching Degrees, Assessor Awards, L4 qualifications in Early Years / Management in Early Years

Course location:

Courses will be delivered in our Strand House Centre, some sessions may be delivered online.

Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone who works or wants to work at a supervisory level in the children and young people’s workforce or Children’s Social Care settings.

What will I learn?

You will discuss, research and produce assignments to meet assessment criteria on the following topics:

  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Legislation, Frameworks, and Professional Practice
  • Working alongside other health practitioners
  • Safeguarding, PREVENT and Early Intervention

How will this course benefit me?

This qualification is designed to build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas.

Course requirements:

You must be in a placement which includes substantial experience across all ranges and 400 hours across the course. You are required to be observed in your practice in the setting.

You will be required to complete a short English assessment and attend an interview with the Course leader.

You must have your own laptop to use for online lessons (Zoom) and to complete assignments.

Progression opportunities:

On completion of the course you may want to apply for various roles in Children’s Social Care or Early Yeas or related childcare settings

Alternatively you may want to apply for opportunities to study at HIM (Higher Education) Level.
