If you want to move into an office based job and need the skills to progress or want to take a change of direction from your current role then come to CALAT and learn new skills or enhance your current ones on our Business courses starting January 2022.

Who is this course for? 

This course is suitable for those who wish to use administration skills in either employment or self-employment. It is suitable for those who are new to administrative work and also those who have previously worked in this area but who wish to update their skills.

What will I learn on this course?

All aspects of administration, including team work, dealing with customers, use of office equipment, producing business documents.

Progression opportunities:

On successful completion of this Level 1 Award, progression is possible to the Level 2 certificate in Business Administration.

Who is this course for? 

This course is suitable for those who have some administration skills, or who have previously worked in an administrative role. It may also be suited to those wishing to change their career direction.

The course leads to a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification.

What will I learn on this course?

You will learn all aspects of working in administration, including working in a team, holding meetings and producing relevant documentation for this, e.g. agendas and minutes. You will learn the most appropriate ways of dealing with customers, including handling queries and complaints. On completion of the course, you will be able to produce business documents, including letters, emails, leaflets, memos and reports to a good professional standard.

This course prepares you for work as an administrator.

Progression opportunities:

Progression into employment or onto another business course, e.g. Customer Service or AAT Bookkeeping.

Course will be delivered online via Zoom, the exam will take place at Strand House

Who is this course for? 

This course is suitable for anyone who wishes to improve their customer service skills. This could be for employment in any sector, or for your own business to provide the very best service to your clients. It is particularly useful for those who have been out of the working world for a while and who wish to increase their confidence.

What will I learn on this course?

You will learn how to deal effectively with customers at all levels; which communication methods are the most appropriate, how to welcome new customers and how to retain existing customers by providing everyone with the service they require. You will also learn how to deal with complaints and make things right if there are problems.

Progression opportunities:

On successful completion of this course and passing the Level 1 examination, you may wish to add to your skills by taking a business administration or bookkeeping course.

Who is this course for? 

This course offers an introduction to the essential skills in single entry bookkeeping. The qualification is suitable for those learners who wish to acquire basic bookkeeping skills and for those who are preparing to enter a bookkeeping job role. It is also suitable for those who are already employed in bookkeeping roles, those wishing to develop their skills and small business owners who want to do their own books.

What will I learn on this course?

Basic bookkeeping and an introduction to the essential skills in single entry bookkeeping.

Progression opportunities:

On successful completion of the course there are progression routes to:

  • AAT Access Award in Accounting Software Level 1
  • AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting
  • AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting

Course entry requirements:
