AET Award in Education & Training – starts 4 January – Croydon Clocktower

The course starts on 4 January 2023 and will be delivered via a mix of online and in-class learning at our Croydon Clocktower centre

6 – 9 pm for 12 weeks (ends Wednesday 29 March 2023)

Who is this course for?

The Ascentis Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an introduction to teaching and it is appropriate for teachers, tutors and trainers who may already been working within an FE college, Community Learning and Skills Provider or Independent Learning Provider and have been asked to complete this qualification and for those delivering work-based training such as within voluntary, community, private and public organisations.

The course is also aimed at learners who wish to gain a taste of teaching before deciding to pursue a career in teaching.

What will I learn on this course?

 By the end of the course, you will:

  • understand the roles and responsibilities in relation to teaching
  • understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches within the learner’s specialist area.
  • be able to plan, deliver and evaluate micro-teaching sessions or assessed practice in a real work environment.
  • understand the use of assessment methods and record keeping.

Progression opportunities:

You could progress to the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training or the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training. 

Course entry requirements:

You will need to attend an IAG session which will involve an English, maths and ICT assessment. You only need to come to one one of the sessions.

Assessments will take place on Thursday 1st and Thursday 8th December between 5.30 and 8pm. 

Course fees:

Fees to be advised but concessionary rates will be available to qualifying learners.
